SSSSA Athletics day at K2 Crawley
Apple Orchard School was represented by 12 pupils at SSSSA Athletics day at K2 Crawley on 11th July 2019.
The pupils took part in a number of track and field events including Shot-put, High jump, long jump and a range of track events over varying distances. The facilities at K2 are excellent, and the inclusion of spectator stands allows the young people to experience the excitement of a track meet. There were a number of local schools represented and being cheered on from the stands.
The weather was definitely on our side this year, as it was sunny but with a welcoming cool breeze. The pupils had a great day, as the did the accompanying staff who enthusiastically cheered on all of the competitors. For some of our pupils this was a return to this great venue, and they were defending their County Champion titles from last year. For others, this was their first trip and they thoroughly enjoyed the day.
We now have a number of County Champions for Apple Orchard School, both from pupils who retained their titles from last year and 3 new pupils who won for the first time. We are very proud of their achievements.
